Haven't been to Rogers Malt Shoppe in years but was over that way today and stopped for lunch. I was impressed with the quality of food and ice cream I remember from back when. At some point, they have added Mexican food to their menu. I was intrigued but not wanting to take a chance, I ordered a hamburger with 2 tacos on the side. The hamburger was a nicely hand pressed patty on a toasty bun and tasted the way a malt shop burger is supposed to taste. The tacos were crispy with not too greasy and perfectly seasoned ground beef with freshly chopped lettuce and plenty of ripe tomatoes. The side of salsa was homemade and added just the right touch. My lunch companion ordered the Hurricane Harvey special of two tacos rice and beans for six something. Her meal was also flavorful and well prepared. We both drooled over the large display case of many varieties of Bluebell ice cream but decided on chocolate malts that were hand prepared the old fashioned way. Actually tasted like a chocolate malt should. The place was very clean and the service was good. I don't plan on waiting so long until next time

This is the first time I ate here and my guacamole was old and my pico was also old. When I told them about the issues they told me that they were fresh when that was not true at all. All they gave me for the old stuff was slices of avocado. Their stuffed tomato also tasted weird like it had some kind of chemical on it. I was not at all impressed and won't eat here again.

This place gets five stars because it isn't the same corporate list of rules and perfect color schemes. It's owned by a family who do it to make a living. They serve good food at fair prices. They aren't traded on the stock market or forcing their politics down your throat. It's just a place to get something to eat. I love it. Mexican cheeseburger and a strawberry malt is my choice.

Local mom and pop with a diverse menu full of great food. The inside could use updating but it's worth overlooking the decor. I always get the supreme breakfast burrito on days I need a pick me up.

Been there a couple of times since my last review and I have to say, the cheeseburger has been amazing both times. 6.50 for large cheeseburger, steak fries and a coke. Hard to beat.
